OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER (OCD) THERAPIST
Erin Nghe, (last name pronounced knee), is an independent, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and metro Atlanta area Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Therapist, who has gained clinical specialties in grief & loss, trauma, depression, anxiety and OCD over the past 15 years while working in the mental health field. Applying multiple theoretical frameworks to help individuals overcome social, emotional and mental health challenges has given Erin the opportunity to be grounded in various evidence-based practice models to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, OCD, depression and social anxiety, including Exposure Ritual Prevention (ERP/ExRP), Behavioral Activation (BA), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE).
At the heart of Erin’s clinical practice with individuals, families and groups, is the core value of supporting clients in utilizing their personal strengths to achieve their highest goals for self-actualization. When working alongside clients, her guiding principles include having integrity, building/maintaining rapport with clients to ensure they feel dignified during each interaction, addressing social injustices, and maintaining intercultural competence to honor cultural differences in her clients, in a way that views cultural differences as an asset to the therapeutic process.
Erin’s specific passion for OCD comes from utilizing and seeing the success of ERP in clients whose lives were severely impaired by the debilitating anxiety that comes from OCD. Working with individuals to regain social functioning has offered a level of satisfaction that continues to drive her commitment to helping OCD sufferers quiet the loud “OCD voice” that steals enjoyment from the various facets of life.
